Hassan Samrhouni,
President and founder
Dear
Friends,
The viability of any membership organization depends on just that
— its members. The same applies to the Washington Moroccan
Club, WMC. Your membership
and support of WMC is important to us all. Without your participation,
your voice is not heard and our organization is weaker by vote!!
By becoming a member you will be part of a network of Moroccan-Americans
and friends of Morocco who care about the historic relationship
between the two peoples and who are aware of the crucial role
each one of us plays in strengthening this relationship and promoting
an accurate and fair picture of Morocco and Moroccans.
Please
take a moment to reflect on the important role that WMC is playing
in our community and to take pride in the success your organization
has enjoyed. Then ask yourself whether you are doing your part
to make the voice of the Moroccan-American community and friends
of Morocco by heard.
WMC
has indeed made great strides in establishing itself throughout
early years of our Moroccan community in States. As the premier
voice of the Moroccan-American community in the US in particular.
Through events like the 1st Moroccan ever festival which took place in 1992 , and the ongoing, for more than a decade,
, The Washington Athletic club ,our soccer team which
compete among big and tall teams in the
Washington
international soccer league, all this and much more
have been educating our own community and those with whom we wish
to form alliances about Moroccan-American issues. Our work in
the nation’s capital and around the US is indispensable
to advancing US-Moroccan issues and promoting accurate perspectives
on Morocco.
But
we cannot sustain WMC and its growth without the strength of a
large and consistent membership base. The crucial element in our
organization is PEOPLE! As we’ve said many times: Grassroots
means nothing without the "roots". And that’s
you!
Your
membership endorse and directly support the following activities
of the upcoming events:
